oh god so i was watching ATLA, and i just saw this scene where aang is in the spirit world and is trying to comfort katara
…and then i realized that in LoK he probably does this all the time
i think katara is just biding her time and waiting for the day she can see aang again. she already has beautiful children and grandchildren and maybe even great grandchildren. she’s already trained the new avatar. i think she’s at peace with her life and everything she’s accomplished, but now she just wants to be with aang cause you know, even if they were together for 50 years, that’s still not enough. for most of her life, she woke up next to aang, he was the first thing she saw every morning and last thing she saw at night.
